Shareholder value in the regulation age
Shareholder value may be enhanced by appropriate regulation, say CFOs in South East Asia
ACCA is delighted to announce the launch of a research report into the link between regulation and shareholder value.
Conducted in collaboration with CFO Asia Research Services, the research study provides a timely snapshot of business opinion in Asia Pacific on one of the most topical global issues – the impact of regulation on companies and their shareholders.
The findings of the research are encouraging. Senior finance executives in China , Hong Kong , Malaysia and Singapore have, on the whole, a positive view of regulation, with nearly 60% reporting that it enhanced shareholder value. Less than 25% believed it hindered economic growth. Overall, most felt it allowed more, not less, focus on strategy.
The report includes the findings of a survey of 176 senior finance executives in the region and several in-depth interviews with finance executives, regulators and institutional investors.
