Technical Seminar on Preparation of Financial Reports

The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited published a report in June this year summarising key observations and findings from its Financial Statements Review Programme (the FSRP) which reviewed 100 financial reports released by listed issuers in 2007 and 2008.

The seminar aims to increase participants’ awareness of the possible pitfalls in the preparation of periodic financial reports. In the seminar, the speaker will explain the role of the FSRP and highlight certain areas where special attention is required by persons responsible for preparing financial information for listed issuers and their auditors to improve the quality of financial reports.

1. The FSRP process and objective
2. Observations and recommendations arising from the FSRP and possible pitfalls to avoid
3. Recent developments and proposals relating to the Listing Rules on financial reporting
