George Leung is covering the Bankâs overall business strategy development and economic affairs for the Asia Pacific region in a full time capacity. In addition to being a key adviser to senior management, he also participates in daily operation of the Bankâs Area Management Office in Hong Kong. Prior to this appointment, he was the Groupâs Chief Economist for the Greater China region. He joined HSBC as senior economist in 1994.
George is a renowned business economist and an influential public poicy commentator in the region. He also has a long record of public service, including Chairman of the Economic Policy Committee of The Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce; member of Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (Hong Kong Committee), Government Statistics Advisory Board, PCICB The Hong Kong Association of Banks, Greater Pearl River Delta Business Council, etc. George is also an honorary adviser to several public and tertiary institutions. He obtained his Master Degree in Economics from the University of Toronto in 1984.
Dr Zhang Wei Guo (å¼µçºåå士)

Zhang Wei-Guo started to serve as the board member of the London based International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) from July 2007. The mission of the Board is to set single, high quality accounting standards for the global capital market.
Before joining IASB, Dr Zhang was the Chief Accountant and Director General of the Department of International Affairs of the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC). He joined CSRC as its Chief Accountant in 1997. While at the CSRC, Dr Zhang had experience in a number of national and international standard-setting and regulatory activities. Since 2002, Dr Zhang had been a member of Standing Committee No.1 on Accounting, Auditing and Disclosure of the Technical Committee of the International Organisation of Securities Commissions (IOSCO). He had also been a member of the China Accounting Standards Committee since 1998 and the China Auditing Standards Committee since 2004.
Dr Zhang received his PhD in economics (accounting major) from Shanghai University of Finance & Economics (SUFE) in 1989. Later on, he became professor and the Head of its Department of Accounting. Dr Zhang was a PhD supervisor in SUFE from 1993 to 2007, and in Tsinghua University from 2000 to 2007.
Because of his outstanding achievements, Dr Zhang has got many rewards, including Special Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Regulation of Chinaâs Securities and Future Market from State Council in 2005, National Award for Outstanding Teachers from State Education Commission and Ministry of Personnel in 1995, and National Award of Outstanding University Young Teachers from Foe Ying Tung Education Foundation under State Education Commission in 1989.

Dr Au joined the Financial Risk Management Group as CEO of FRM Hong Kong in September 2008. He is responsible for the FRM Group's fund of global hedge funds business in Asia ex Japan and Korea. Previously, Dr Au held senior management positions at HSBC Global Asset Management, GMO and Baring Asset Management.
Dr Au serves on a number of public committees and tribunals. He was Chairman of the HK Securities Institute from 2006 to 2008 and Chairman of HK Investment Funds Association in 2004. In July 2008, Dr Au was awarded the Medal of Honour (MH) by the HK SAR Government for his valuable contributions to the securities and asset management industry.
Dr Au holds a BA in Physics from Oxford University and a PhD in Theoretical Particle Physics from Durham University. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and a Fellow of the HK Securities Institute.

Mr Terry Poon graduated in the United Kingdom and qualified with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Hong Kong as Certified Public Accountant. Terry has over 23 years of experiences in auditing and accounting, corporate finance, financial management and investorsâ relations. Prior to joining Lifestyle in December 2004, Terry was an executive director and the chief financial officer of another Hong Kong listed company in the consumer products sector.

Shih Wing Ching was born in Shanghai and brought up in Hong Kong. In 1978, Mr Shih established Centaline Property Agency Limited, which has now evolved as one of the largest property agencies in the country, employing more than 19,000 staff and involving in a great variety of businesses including property agency, surveying and valuation, personnel consulting services, wealth management, information technology development on property data and internet mapping services.
In 2005, Mr Shih launched the free newspaper, am730 and is now a columnist giving comments on current issues of the world, sharing insights as an entrepreneur and even life experiences. Mr Shih also hosts radio programs and frequently delivers speech in tertiary institutions on all sorts of topics about philosophy, economics, management, and even natural science. As Mr Shih has diversified interests and his analysis is always based on a macroscopic view, he has become one of the most popular commentators in the Hong Kong community.
With keen enthusiasm for the society's development, Mr.Shih participates in various community services and charity works. He is currently the Member of respectively the Task Force on Economic Challenges and the Commission on Strategic Development.
Prof Stephen Cheung (å¼µä»è¯ææ), JP

Before joining HKBU in March 2009, Prof Cheung was a distinguished scholar of City University of Hong Kong. Starting from 1992, rising through the ranks to be appointed to the Chair Professorship in 1996. Prof Cheung also holds Advisory and Adjunct Professorships at Fudan University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University respectively.
Graduating with a first degree in Mathematics, Statistics and Economics from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Prof Cheung obtained two higher degrees: a PhD in Statistics from the University of Paris VI in France and a PhD in Finance from the University of Strathclyde in the UK.
A prominent and highly respected scholar, Prof Cheungâs major research interests include Corporate Finance, Investment and Financial Market Development. He was ranked the sixth most productive finance researcher in the Asia-Pacific region during the period 1990-1999, and was ranked the 14th most productive author in Asia-Pacific universities by weighted number of articles in 18 accounting journals during the period 1991-2002. In addition to his substantial teaching and research experience, Prof Cheung assumed a wide range of administrative responsibilities during his service at CityU.
Prof Cheung also has extensive consultancy experience in the Hong Kong financial sector and is active in community service. He is Chairman of the Advisory Committee of the Enhancing Self-Reliance through District Partnership Programme of the Home Affairs Department as well as Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the ABF Hong Kong Bond Index Fund of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. Prof Cheung also serves as a member of the Commission on Strategic Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. He was appointed Justice of the Peace in 2007.

Dr Bob Chan is the Chief Economist of CASH Financial Services Group (âCFSGâ, HKEx: 510). CFSG is a leading financial services conglomerate in China, offering a comprehensive range of financial products and services, including brokerage, investment banking, asset management and wealth management, catering to the investment and wealth management needs of clients.
Bob has extensive experience in the fields of capital markets, corporate development and asset management. He had served on the boards of a number of listed and private companies in the U.S., China, and Hong Kong. He had also taken executive roles in the building and development of successful business strategies in several companies.
Bob had served as a faculty member in the City University of Hong Kong. He had conducted advisory work and consultancy for leading financial institutions, including the Asian Development Bank, the United Nations and the Pacific Economic Corporation Council on various topics in Asia-Pacific financial markets. He had also served as a Visiting Professor of the Graduate School of the Peopleâs Bank of China.
Currently Bob is a Member of the Hong Kong Estate Agent Authority, the statutory body that regulates real estate agents in Hong Kong. He is also an Independent Non-Executive Director of a Hong Kong GEM listed company, which specialises in the research, development, production and marketing of bio-pharmaceutical products in Mainland and Hong Kong.
Bob received his Ph.D. in Finance from Purdue University, U.S.A. and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Keith Lui is a member of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC). He is also an Executive Director with the responsibility for the Supervision of Markets Division which is responsible for supervising the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited in respect of its trading and clearing activities, authorisation of automated trading systems, managing the investor compensation funds and facilitating the development of the securities and futures markets.
Keith has been working in the SFC for over 15 years and has extensive knowledge and experience in the supervision of the securities and futures markets. Prior to joining the SFC, he worked in financial institutions in the US.
Keith also sits on the Risk Management Committee of the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, Securities Compensation Fund Committee (Chairman), Investor Compensation Fund Committee (Chairman), SFC (HKEC Listing) Committee, and Executive Committee. He is also a director of the Investor Compensation Company Limited.

Mr Paul Chan is a member of the Legislative Council of HKSAR, representing the Accountancy Constituency. He is a former President of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) and former Chairman of ACCA-HK.
Paul holds a BBA and an MBA degree from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He has also studied at the Harvard Business School. Paul is an Adjunct Associate Professor of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and the City University of Hong Kong. He has frequently lectured, on a visiting basis, for the Trade Development Council, professional accounting bodies, universities and other institutions.
Paul is the Chairman of PCP CPA Limited. He also serves as independent non-executive director for several listed companies and a bank in Hong Kong.
On community services, Paul has served on many boards and committees of governmental and public bodies. Currently, he is Chairman of the Legal Aid Services Council and the Professional Services Advisory Committee of HKTDC. He is also a member of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, the Strategic Development Commission, the Consumer Council and the Beat Drugs Fund Association. He is also Chairman of Friends of Caritas and a past Chairman of Breakthrough Limited. In July 2006, Mr. Chan was awarded a Medal of Honour by the HKSAR government for his outstanding community services. He was also appointed as Justice of the Peace in July 2007.
He has been appointed a member of Chinese Peopleâs Political Consultative Conference of the Qingdao City and the Shanghai City in 2005 and 2008 respectively. In February 2008, he has also been appointed an advisor to the Accounting Standards Committee of The Ministry of Finance of PRC.
Dr Thomas Chan (鳿鴻å士)

Since 2003, Dr Chan has been a member of CPU Panel on Pan-Pearl River Delta (Pan-PRD) for the Central Policy Unit of the Government of the HKSAR. He has also been an expert adviser of Hong Kong 2030: Planning vision and the strategy for the Planning Department of the Government of the HKSAR starting from 2001.
