China Grand Final

The ACCA Job Hunting Competition has been a region-wide competition held in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Hong Kong.  This year, with record-breaking 5,462 university students in these 5 regions entering the competition, the top 3 winners of each regional competition participated in the China Grand Final on 16 July 2009 in Shanghai and competed for the Grand Championship.  The event had attracted over 200 students and guests to witness the exciting and fierce Grand Final Competition in person.  Live broadcasting on sina.com also enabled the public to watch the competition at home.

At the end, Mr Li Tong, a year 3 Accounting (ACCA) student of University of International Business & Economics won the Grand Championship of the Competition.  The judging panel was impressed by his pleasant and confident presentation, especially his professionalism when handling the challenge questions.  Mr Wong On Yu, a year 3 BBA (Law) student of The University of Hong Kong was awarded the first runner-up; and Ms Zhang Shu, a year 3 Bilingual Finance student from Southwestern University of Finance & Economics was awarded the second runner-up.

An online voting campaign was launched on sina.com in early July for the public to vote for their favourite candidate.  Ms Gou Tianyu, a Postgraduate Year 2 Business Administration student from Nanjing University was awarded the Most Popular Candidate.

Congratulations to the top winners and special thanks to all the honorary judges and the sponsors for their invaluable support and commitment in fostering the young generation.
